Two Years of Frame-Changing Ideas
Looking back at two years of building a newsletter, the top posts of 2023, and some exciting plans for 2024
Happy New Year Everyone! đ
In my first post of 2024, I wanted to do a quick look back and forward before we fully head into the new year because next to it being the new calendar year, itâs also now been two years since I started this newsletter.
So, let me very quickly share a few numbers, the most liked posts from 2023, and my plans for this year with you:
Numbers
In 2022, the first year of the newsletter, we went from 0 to 718 subscribers and got, on average, around 3,000 views per month. In 2023, the second year of my newsletter, we went from 718 to 2,360 subscribers and got around 12,000 views per month, on average. đ„ł
I am also super happy that I managed to publish my first report in 2023. Alternative Prosperity: Reframing The âGood Lifeâ has been downloaded 143 times so far.

Aliveness: Reframing Productivity
There seems to be something completely wrong with our current mode of living. Itâs hard to describe or pinpoint the exact feeling that I believe a growing number of people have, but here is my attempt anyway, and maybe you can relate: I feel awake but not alive!

We Suck at Promoting Climate Action, Here is How We Change That
As more and more people are confronted with the effects of climate change â heatwaves, floods, droughts, wildfires, etc. â there is an opportunity to shift how we talk about climate change and climate action. In short, the problem is this: In the last 10 to 20 years, the climate action community â i.e. the sustainability people, the decarbonization folksâŠ

From Self-Reform to Worldview-Reform
Throughout the last few decades, our economic system has transformed society into a market, citizens into consumers, and communities into individuals. One major consequence of that is a prioritization of an individualism-centric mindset and approach to things.

Visualizing Brand Pivots
My long-time subscribers will remember the visuals-focused (memes, images, screenshots, gifs, tweetsâŠ) issues I did last year: there was one about Consumerism, another about Car Centricity, one on Minimalist (or Efficient) Design, and one about inspiring

Community Economies: Reframing Wealth Building
âHow can we change the system?â There are different ways one can answer this question. One way that, at least to me, is increasingly becoming the silver bullet for large-scale transformation is Community-Based Wealth Building. Reframing Wealth-Building: From Me to We
Plans for 2024
For this year, I have three main things that I want to focus on:
1. Audience Growth
This is all about reaching new people and gaining a substantial amount of new subscribers. I plan to do this by giving you all even more value, thereby hopefully encouraging you to share my work more with your network, and by using my LinkedIn profile to reach new people. So, expect more deep-dive articles on top of the rabbit holes issues and better LinkedIn posts.
đ How can you help? Share this newsletter with your network and follow me on LinkedIn and engage with my posts.
2. A Clear Positioning & Branding
This is something that I have already been working on in the past few months. You might have noticed that my recent deep dive posts, as well as my report, mention the word âreframingâ a lot: Reframing Productivity, Reframing Wealth Building, Reframing The âGood Lifeâ, etc. Thatâs no coincidence!
Reframing, i.e. looking at the world with a different perspective in order to provoke new thinking and ideas, is really what this newsletter is all about! And in 2024, I want to make Creative Destruction the(!) place on the internet for people to explore reframings in order to get out-of-the-box ideas that help them build a better world.
3. Making Money
I donât like talking about money, but transforming this newsletter into something that will pay my bills is my audacious goal for 2024. Since starting this newsletter, I have published over 102 pieces of content, plus a report and tons of social media posts. All for free! As I am doing this now full-time, I want to make it financially viable.
đââïž How can you help? For now, itâs all about sharing the newsletter to help me grow the subscriber base. Because the more subscribers the easier and better it gets to generate income from the newsletter (or any adjacent products and services).
In line with an idea that I shared in the last rabbit holes issue, I am approaching these three things not really as goals but as âskills to learnâ. Meaning in 2024, I want to learn how to build an audience rapidly on the internet, how to create a very unique but clear positioning, and how to make money with a newsletter. And hey, maybe your journey is similar, and we can inspire, support, and learn from each other! đ
The âhowâ of doing this is really important to me! Thatâs where the concept of aliveness comes in. In all of the above, I am trying to seek aliveness! That means that I am looking for internal and external resonance: âDoes it feel like no one else but I could create this?â; âDoes this strike a nerve and genuinely matter to my audience?â. If I can answer these questions with a yes, then Iâm on a good track.
So thatâs whatâs in store for 2024!
I canât thank you all enough for being a part of my journey and letting me be a part of yours. It gives me chills to think about how many people read this newsletter every week. Your support is extremely appreciated! đ
I am super excited about this new year, so letâs get it started!
See you next week with a fresh rabbit holes issue.
Thank you,
