Creative Destruction explores thought-provoking reframings that help you see and create a better world.
Fed up with the way things are? Exploitative, destructive, unjust, unsustainable, stressful, monotonous, inhumane, and ugly?
See, weâre living in a time of story breakdown. And as the old narratives and systems break down, there is an opportunity to explore the world from a different viewpoint and to nurture alternatives: new worldviews, new ideas, new imaginations, new solutions. To what end? Creating a more regenerative, beautiful, joyful and just world!
Soooooooo: Are you in?
If you are into super creative, out-of-the-box ideas and perspectives, itâs a no-brainer to subscribe! đ
âThe task is not so much to see what no one has yet seen,
but to think what nobody has yet thought about that which everybody sees.â

Whoâs behind this?
My name is Thomas. Iâm the guy standing on that stage above talking about the colonial origins of capitalism â classic Thomas đ .
I love (!!) exploring new perspectives, unconventional ideas, and deep narratives. Itâs my thing, itâs me, and itâs why I started this newsletter!
I hate labels, but Iâd call myself a researcher, strategist, thinker, and âimaginatorâ.
Here are some of the roles and places I worked in during my more than 10 years of experience in foresight and innovation:
Head of Research & Senior Trend Analyst at TrendWatching, a leading international trend and innovation of the biggest trend firm
Managing Director at Business of Purpose, which was a newsletter and community of more than 6k people championing a more sustainable and just way of doing business
Trend & Innovation Consultant at TD Reply, a marketing and innovation consultancy
Freelance Foresight Researcher & Analyst
Trend Researcher & Project Manager at Itonics and Lacuna Innovation
I have an MA in Futures Studies (yes, you can study âthe futureâ đŽ) from the Free University of Berlin, the city I call home. But I have also had the pleasure of living and working in various other places: as a full-time volunteer in a soup kitchen for the homeless in Chicago; as an intern at a political foundation in Jakarta; and as an innovation consultant at a small startup consultancy in Cape Town. If you are from one of these places, definitely reach out!
